What are the PFE-1's dimensions and could you use it on a rimless tank? Thank you.

Hi Gabe,

The PFE-1 hang-on filter is 3.25 inches wide x 3.25 inches deep x 4.5 inches tall. This aquarium filter is suitable for rimless tanks and has a leveling adjustment on the bottom. Thank you!

does the pfe-1 have a surface skimmer ?

Answer:

Hello,

The PFE-1 does not have have a surface skimmer. The PFE-1 includes a filter sponge for biological filtration and a replaceable filter cartridge loaded with Activated Carbon for mechanical and chemical filtration.

The PFE Series has a total of 5 filters. Out of all 5 filters only two have surface skimmers, the PFE-6 and PFE-9.

My betta loves it

Received it fairly quick. The flow control is wonderful (especially for my betta). Cleans fairly well, great purchase overall I can't complain

Perfect filter for small tanks (adjustable flow really works!)

This filter and adjustable flow rate works very well unlike some of the other filters. The other filters adjustable flow rate will fill the housing with water and over flow (does not work well) but this one works great! I have 4 2 gallon tanks for Betta's and was searching for one that actually works because Betta's does not like heavy flow of water and with a small tank you need something that works well. I have 4 of these and they are super quiet and the best filter I have ever had for a small tank.

Pros:

I highly recommend this filter for small tanks. Works very well for small round 2 gall tanks. It is also super quiet ( I mean its really quiet). It's also has a 15 gallon capacity so if you get a larger tank you can still use this filter.

None so far.

Does not fit rimless well

Great little filter, it's quiet, and seems to be doing a pretty good job. Only thing is they say it will fit a rimless. Well, yeah it does, but it doesn't fit well. The adjustment knob is not big enough. I had to wedge a piece of filter foam in between the glass and the filter to get it to be straight. Other than that, so far it's been a good filter for the price. If I can will update the review later down the road.

Works perfect for 10 gallon tanks and betta, easy to adjust the flow very quiet

can't think of any but color would be nice if it was black instead of silver

Best looking HOB filter

I was trying to setup a small nano tank and purchased this filter. When I received the product - it was the best looking HOB I've seen in my life. Ordering was simple and the filter arrived as expected and is working great. Our tank has cleared up in less than 24 hours
