Is the undergravel filter the standard type or reverse flow? Basically does it pull water down through the gravel, or push it up through from below?
What are the dimensions of the opening in the back of the hood? I'm trying to determine if an AquaClear 20 HOB filter will fit through the opening.
Is there a filler panel to fill the opening in the back of the hood if I don't put a HOB filter there?
Is the upper plastic rim of the tank siliconed in place? I've had a few Marineland tanks that leaked from the bottom of the upper rim if the water level was high enough to just barely hide it behind the rim.

Answer:
Hello Andy,
The under-gravel filter on this glass aquarium is the standard type that flows from underneath the gravel and out of the lily return pipe. The dimensions on the back of the hood are as follows: 5-7/8 inches wide x 2 inches deep x 1.5 tall. Please note that the rim of the tank is stepped down and then out approximately Ľ inches. There is not a filler panel that completely closes the back space of the hood but there is hinged piece that gives the hood a flush look from the front and sides. The rim of the tank is silicone sealed, and you shouldn’t have any issues running your tank water up to it. We do advise that you keep the water level a little bit lower than the rim.

Thank you

Nice product
December 29, 2013
This is a nice little aquarium. I liked the dimensions of it since it is a square shape. The light is nice and bright and you can find bulbs easily in stores like menards and home depot. I chose not to use the included filtration since I have killifish in it. I have had the aquarium up and running for about a month now with no problems. When I first examined the aquarium I noticed that one of my front glass seams wasn't filled all the way in with silicone to make a clean evenly filled and flush seam between the glass pieces. The inner seams looked fine so I kept it and filled it up to leak test it. It didn't leak so I kept the tank. The seam issue was merely cosmetic and not noticeable with the black silicone that was used. This being my first bow front aquarium, I didn't realize the distortion that occurs when looking through the bow front panel. The objects in the back are stretched out while close objects look fine. It's weird at first but you get used to it. When I purchase another aquarium from this vendor in the future it will have flat front glass since I don't like the distortion. Overall I am happy with this purchase.
Pros:
Square/cube dimensions. Good price when I bought it.

Its a little wobbly but nothing a piece of cardboard didn't fix but otherwise a very great tank! I didn't use the filter as the current was too strong for my fish so can't really say if that part was good or not.

hospital/quarantine tank
November 28, 2013
I was very happy to get this nice little tank at a great price. I will use it for a hospital/quarantine tank, for which it is perfect.
Pros:
Nice hood. Tank is good size for my use.
Cons:
came w/under gravel filter that I won't use. I use glass chips and stones for substrate. Bow front distorts a little.

Outstanding tank for the money.
November 19, 2013
I saw this tank and figured it must be a scam, but for the money I'd take a gamble. Boy was I surprised! No scam- this is a beautiful tank! I've paid three times the price for tanks that hold less and are not as well made. I will definitely be buying more.
