I have used a 7 watt bulb in my AquaTop PF25UV for 17 months and just replaced it

I really like the AquaTop PFUV series filters for their flexibility and affordability. With six planted aquaria, five of which are use high lighting ferts and injected CO2,
having a UV sterilizer is a must, if I want to avoid constant algae blooms. I have an AquaTop PFUV filter on five of my planted aquaria (an IL10UV on the 6th),
and the bulbs have stood up well for over a year on most. The uv bulbs in the two PFUV filters that I have had for a bit less than a year are still going strong. I replaced the 7 watt bulb on the PF25UV to see if there was much difference in water clarity from the 17 month old bulb, and haven't noticed any. So I know that these bulbs are still useful for uv clarification after a year of use, which is very impressive given how inexpensive they are.
I continue to be very impressed with the innovativeness of AquaTop, and find their hob uv sterilizers to be of tremendous value in keeping the water columns in my planted aquaria crystal clear.
Pros:Lasts for more than a year and is very inexpensive.
