AQUATOP AT-200 Canister Filter with FREE Filtration Media
Don’t miss this bundle deal! The AT-200 external canister filter offers superior filtration and includes a White Poly Filter Pad (Biological Media Sold Separately). Built for heavy-duty operation, the AT-200 will provide clean, clear and healthy aquarium water and yet still runs quietly. With three filtration media trays, the AT-200 allows for complete customization and includes adjustable input and output valves and optional “Lily Style” return.

What Order Does the Media Go?
We get this question a lot, but there is no one way or rule on stacking media in filters. Sometimes you just need to experiment to find what works best. However, we recommend placing a black filter pad in the bottom tray, followed by carbon in the second tray, and bio-balls or ceramic rings in the top tray. Additional media can be added based off of the needs of your aquarium. You may also stack media on top of filter pads in each tray for added mechanical filtration. Be sure the trays are not overloaded so that the flow rate is not adversely affected.

By Customer Service on January 29, 2012

I think your want to know the answer for how big the size of tank this filter can handle. It is up to 50g tank and the flow rate is 211g/hr.

how to put filters in what to put first second &third
By Customer Service on March 15, 2012

Greetings Francis,

We recommend stacking the bottom compartment with mechanical filtration media usually in the form of filter pads and filters sponges. The least dense material should be placed on the very bottom and the denser material towards on top. The middle compartment should receive chemical filtration media, usually in the form of Activated Carbon. The top compartment should receive biological filtration media, usually in the form of Ceramic Rings.

how to prime it
By Customer Service on March 15, 2012

Greetings Frances,

Please check out our how to prime videos located under the video tab. Here is the link to the product you have expressed interest in. The video covers the CF Series, the DF Series and lastly cover the AT Series. The AT Series does not include a Prime Button. The best way to Prime the AT Canister Filter is to create a siphon from the output section of plumbing.

Ok, I can't really figure out what the funnel thing is for and where it goes.
By Customer Service on April 6, 2012

Greetings Denise,

Good question!

The 'funnel thing' is not a funnel at all. It is a Lily Style Return Pipe. Each AT Series canister filter comes with two options for return plumbing; a Spray Bar & a Lily Pipe. The Lily Pipe Return can be used if you do not want to use the Spray Bar.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.

What is the order for the media? Or what goes on each tray?
By Customer Service on April 13, 2012

Greetings Mike,

Good question. The flow pattern of the AT Canister Filter is bottom to top. We recommend adding mechanical filtration media (pads and/or sponges) to the bottom tray, chemical filtration media (typically Activated Carbon) to the middle tray and biological filtration media (usually Ceramic Rings) to the top tray.

If there is anything further we can help you with please do not hesitate to ask.

Good filter, so far.

I've had this filter up and running for a few days now. It's extremely quiet, which is great. It's giving my 8.6 gallon tank good flow with an Eheim 2213 as a pre-filter, an inline heater, an inline CO2 reactor and a UV sterilizer. So far, so good.
Price, free media, powerful, and lots of room for filter media.
None so far.

This filter is great even more so if you got it before the price went back to $99. I paid $49 for it and it works as well or better than much more expensive filters. It is well worth the $99. I have this particular one on a 40 gal tank with fancy Goldfish and it filters it very well. I could not be happier with it. It was not self priming as it said on the box, but it was no problem to get it started. I also love the cut off valves on the in/out hoses.

Great Canister Filter
March 31, 2012
I have always had trouble keeping my 30 gallon clean and clear when i put minnows in it to feed my 2 footlong Black Bullhead catfish. The tank would cloud over from the bioload. The Aquatop AT200 has no problem keeping up, in fact the tank has never looked this good. Perfect crystal clear water. I am moving my fish into a 45 gallon tank and will use the same filter. I do not expect any issues at all. Great value and product.

Not too bad
February 13, 2012
I got this filter since the price was right and have a serious case of MTS on a budget. I am using it for a 12 gallon long shrimp tank and set up was pretty easy except for the priming. It was a bit messy and this model doesn't have the priming mechanism that is on the newer models. It's been running for a week or two and seems to be working quite well but only time will tell how this keeps up.

The product was cheap but does the job great. Though parts are a bit flimsy but hey what more can you expect for a $50 filter. Extremely quite. Pretty happy with the purchase.

Bought this filter to replace my old Eihem filter, they are very identical but the motor runs even quiter than Eihem. Pay almost half the price for better quality filter. I also bought the in-line UV sterilizer, it is easy setup and now I have UV for my fish tank too. Good job truAqua!
