Questions and Answers:
By Phil from Cananda on December 28, 2011
I just purchased a DF200 Canister Filter, I'm wondering what is the correct layout for the filtration materials? i.e. Should the finest filter pad goes on top or at the very bottom? Also is there a particular tray the ceramic rings and bio balls should sit at?
By Customer Service on December 28, 2011

Answer:
The order of water flow through filtration system should be - physical filtration which is thick media pad (blue pad)-> fine media pad (white), then chemical filtration (carbon), then bio filtration (ceramic rings and bio-balls).

Since DF200 canister filter water flow from bottom to top, so you will put the blue pad at the bottom, then white pad, then carbon, then ceramic rings, then bio-balls.

Can you adjust the flow rate if you use this for tanks under 10 gallons?
By Customer Service on February 8, 2012

Answer:
Greetings John,

The DF-200 canister filter does not feature an adjustable flow rate.

We do offer a variety of internal and hang-on back style filters that do offer an adjustable flow rate and would make excellent candidates for a 10 gallon aquarium. Here are two links where they can be found.

Hands down, the best bang for the buck.

It was time to set a new 40 gal tank and I decided to check on other canister filters (I own four Renas). The DF-200 caught my attention not only for its refined design but also, the incredible low price. It has been running flawlessly for a month. The O rings are a definite plus. Very easy to set up and prime. The tubing amber color blends very well with any background. It is even quieter than my XP2s!. In my opinion , the only thing needed to make this filter perfect is a flow regulating valve.
Pros:
Easy To Clean, Quiet, Effective, Refined design
Cons:
No flow control valve
Best Uses:
