Depending on the average room temperature and desired water temperature we suggest two 300 watt heaters or two 450 watt heaters.
If there is anything further we can do for you please let us know.By Mark Flores from San Diego, CA on January 23, 2012 Will this 300 Watt heater be ample power to heat a 100 gallon with no problem? I realize that on the description it says tanks up to 100 gallons. But you know how some products say state that and in the end it doesn't deliver. Anyone out there have a 100 gallon aquarium that has this running in their aquarium? Feed back would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to avoid running 2 heaters. Thanks in advance. By Customer Service on January 23, 2012Answer:Greetings Mark,
We have a very informative blog that will be able to better assist you regarding how to choose the appropriate heater. There is a section specifically written to help users understand the variables when choosing a heater for their aquarium.

great heaters
April 15, 2012
This is my second aquatop heater from tru aqua. I love
these heaters. The displays are easy to use. They have easy to see
indicator lights showing whether the power is on or off, whether or
not the heater is active, and an exact temperature. They reliably
activate and heat the water as soon as it drops within 1 degree
difference of the desired temperature. They are easy to set and
use. And the temperature probe is set away from the heater for
better temperature readings which also eliminates the need for a
seperate thermometer. If i had to make a suggestion for
improvements i would ask that the lead on the temp. probe be a
little longer to get it a bit further from the heater on the 300 w
as i did not have a lot of room to move it away from the heater as
far as i would have liked too. However it is still a very effective
and user friendly unit and i will be purchasing any heaters from
aquatop from now on.
Pros:Easy to Use, Effective, Safe, Good Value

Nice product
March 3, 2012
This is a nice little heater with a thermometer that is
wired into the heater, but has about 6 inches of wiring to locate
it away from the heaters body. One button setting from I believe 64
to 95 degrees F to cover all needs. Press the button on the top
once and the heater goes into setting mode. Each press moves the
temp up one degree. Stop at the desired temp and you are done. Easy
to read digital display that tells you the heaters setting and the
tanks actual temp. I have this in my 55 gallon freshwater and it
seems to work flawlessly. The only weak point is the power cord is
about 2 feet shorter than what I needed to reach my power strip
which is on the floor directly behind the tank that is sitting on
top of a cabinet. Not really a big deal if you have a short
extension cord available.
Pros:Good Value, Easy to Use, Effective
Cons:Power cord too short
Best Uses:Medium tanks

Very hi tech heater and easy to use

I have a 75 gallon hex and this is the right size for it
being that it's a very deep tank. The heater is very large so it
needs alot of space. It's extremely easy to use. Only one button on
the whole thing ! It keeps the water temp very accurately. If the
temp drops it automatically kicks back on to heat it to what I have
it set to. Great product!

Perfect 300w heater
November 24, 2011
Great value and it work much better than other 300w
heaters that I have in the tank. Prior to the true aqua heater my
temps on the 175gl tank would swing wildly but now the true aqua
has everything dialed in. The digital thermometer and target temp
are great - you can tell what it's really aiming for.

Advanced but Simple to Use
July 29, 2011
The D2HT-300 Heater is not only sweet looking but simple
to install and operate. The all black looks good in an aquarium and
tends to blend into the background better. The dual read-out
display makes it easy to read current aquarium temp as well as the
set temp. The secondary temp probe ensures you are getting an
accurate and thorough reading of aquarium temp. I recommend this
heater for anyone who needs a new heater or would like to
upgrade.
Pros:Good Value, Retains Preset Temp, Effective, Durable, Secondary Temp Probe, Dual Read-Out, Easy to Use, Safe
Best Uses:Saltwater Tanks, Freshwater Tanks, Need to upgrade the old, Large Aquariums

AQUATOP Digital Heater
The D2HT Dual Digital Display Heater from AQUATOP
By David Lass, Aquarium Fish Int'l Magazine, December 2011
The new digital heater from Aquatop Aquatic Supplies includes a number of features and benefits;
it is an excellent aquarium heater.
CLAIMS: Aquatop claims that the heater is easy to use and will maintain the aquarium
temperature correctly.
TESTS: I tested a 300-Watt Aquatop Digital Heater on a 50-gallon planted tank. Over a few
weeks, I raised the water temperature by 2 degrees every other day and then lowered it 2
degrees, going from 70 to 80 degrees Farenheit and back down.
RESULTS: The heater performed perfectly. I confirmed each adjustment with two thermometers
in the tank. the display on the heater clearly shows the set temperature and the actual
temperature. It is easy to turn the heater on and off, and to make temperature adjustments.
The heater itself is well-made, with suction cups for mounting it to the glass. I especially
like that it has integrated temperature probe that is mounted 6 inches or so from the heater,
which I think is more accurate than relying on having the sensor within the heater itself.
CONCLUSION: The Aquatop Aquatic Supplies Digital Heater is an excellent piece of equipment,
and I encourage hobbyists to use it. It is easy to use, accurate to within 1 degree, well-made
and sturdy.
