Would this fit in the back of an 29g nano cube?

Answer:
John,
We have received your recent product inquiry regarding a UV-3 submersible UV unit. We understand you would like to use this unit in conjunction with a 29g nano cube. Please share additional information regarding the placement of this unit. We do not know the available space and are unable to give you an answer. The UV-3 is 8.5" tall and has a diameter of 1.75". The UV-3 does not have a motor. It is a stand alone 3W UV unit that allows for water to flow through it. So it will need to be plumbed into existing plumbing or attached to a powehead or pump. Below is an example of a bundle package we sell.

hi all
i have this uv3 with a ph-8 in a 60g fw community tank with sand as my substrate. i seem to be picking up the sand thru the unit.. what am i doing wrong? is there any way to reduce water flow? maybe a foam insert in the strainer.
Also what purpose does the small clear tube serve?
thanks in advance

Answer:
Hello Joe,
We have received your recent product inquiry regarding a UV-3 and PH-8 combo that is picking up sand from the bottom of your aquarium. Well, the sand is being sucked up because the powerhead, PH-8 is in-taking water from the strainer which is apparently too close to the sand. We recommend repositioning the unit. You can move it up and away from the sand or till the unit diagonally. The unit does not have to be install perfectly vertical. It can be mounted horizontally if need be.
The clear plastic tube is an extra adapter. The UV-3 can be installed with a variety of products such as Hang-on Back Filters and Canister Filters.
