Saltwater tank 210 is god
By Customer Service on October 8, 2012

Answer:
Alberto,

We have received your recent product inquiry regarding the use of an E-18 on a 210 gallon saltwater aquarium. The E-18 is under-sized for a 210 gallon saltwater aquarium. If you we to be installing this unit on a 210 freshwater aquarium it would be suffice. We recommend utilizing the larger model, E-36, for your setup. The 36W unit will help rid your aquarium of green-water and free-floating parasites.

If you have any additional question please do not hesitate to ask.

I am considering purchasing the E18 sterilizer and would like to know if anyone has had any feedback on the ease of changing the bulb and how often does the UV bulb need to be replaced.
By Customer Service on December 5, 2012

Answer:
Hello Yvonne,
The E-18 in-line sterilizer bulb is relatively easy to change and only requires about five steps. The steps can be found in the owner’s manual: http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/yhst-32922797599336/eliminator-series-manual.pdf. If you run the unit 24 hours a day, we recommend replacing the bulb every six months as the bulb’s effectiveness will begin to diminish.

Whats the smallest tank you would put this on, and does it fit the Fluval 306 tubing without any additional adapters?
plan on running it a few hours a week to keep bacteria in check, is this hard on the bulbs?
can it be left hanging horizontal behind the aquarium?

tks much!
Brad

Answer:
Hello Brad,
Assuming that the unit comes with ˝- inch or 1-inch ID tubing, you will have no problems adapting the Eliminator in-line UV clarifier into your canister. The smallest tank we recommend would be in the range of 100 gallons as we make smaller in-line sterilizers for smaller applications. Running the unit periodically should have no adverse effect on the bulbs and many of our customers do not run their units 24/7. The E-18 can be mounted horizontally or vertically with no adverse effects on water flow or functionality.

Thank you,
