Hello Gordon,

You can access instructions directly on the website: Just scroll down to the owner’s manual icon. To set up the IPF-302 aquarium power filter, there are a few options that you can utilize. The first option is to use the unit as it is directly out of the box. This setup works well if you are not using an air line. The pieces that the unit comes with allow you to set up the filter in various ways to cater to your particular needs.

To attach the included pieces, remove the output piece on the front of the filter by moderately pulling on the lower end of the output piece. It is a tapered fit so once you remove the existing output you can easily insert one of the alternate pieces supplied with the filter. Once removed, choose which output piece you would like to use and insert it into the output hole on the filter. Once this is done, simply plug in the filter and let it work its magic.
