We just purchased a UV Sterilizing Pump UVE13, we cannot figure out how to install it, where does the tubing go???
By Customer Service on November 12, 2012

Answer:
Hello Carolyn,
The tubing that comes with the UVE pump can be used if you decide you want more bubbles in your water. The tubing connects to the venturi line. Whether you use it for added aeration or for visual reasons is up to you.

Will this size pump work for killing parasites in a 120 gallon freshwater tank
By Customer Service on November 19, 2012

Answer:
Hello Deb,
UV sterilization like our UVE-13 is a very effective method of eradicating free floating, disease causing pathogens that are in your water. The size of the UVE-13 would be a great match for the capacity of your tank and the 13 watt bulb is very effective at zapping micro organisms. We have had multiple customers tell us that our UV products have greatly helped in ridding their tank of Ich and other diseases; however, every case is different, as everyone has different water quality in their tank. While we can guarantee that our UV products will aid in the overall health of your tank, we cannot guarantee that it will kill all parasites that may be in your water.

Solid UV Unit
July 18, 2013
Plug and play right out of box. The unit had a nice weight to it and found the plastic quality very good. I had read several reviews prior to purchasing an all-in-one submersible UV sterilizer and this one really covers all the bases. In a standard setup, i.e. a non submersible UV, you would use a pump on one side of the tank and push it through the UV and have the water deposit on the other side of the tank. This way you are always sterilizing new water. It takes work to set up one properly for a perfect result. Because this unit has everything built in I purchased the 13 watt bulb instead of the 9 watt for my 100 gallon. My old unit that passed on, would have cleaned the tank in 5 hours. This one took 3 days to get to crystal clear because of the extra time for a fully built in unit. I had to change the position of the water flow to push as far away from the unit to get the best results (movement of the water flow is another plus), i.e. so its not cleaning the same water over and over again. This also means that really should run this sterilizer 24 hours a day, everyday. Don't get me wrong, the natural pump currents in the water do eventually move the water past the unit. Another key factor is that they don't rip you off for the blubs. Most replacement bulbs cost upwards of 35 dollars. Replacements for this unit only cost 12. For a unit that is so easy to use this is a slam dunk. I think if I had a 150 gallon+ I would use 2 13 watt units.
Pros:
Adjustable water flow Adjustable nozzle for current flow Built in viewing area to see blub is working Ready right out of the box Durable plastic and good design
Cons:
Takes longer to clean water than a traditional UV sterilizer set up.

Tried frequent water changes with no results, water would still come back green within six hours. You could actually see the algae bloom swirling in the water when the clean water came in contact algae infested water. Install this UV steriizer and after 3-4 days the water is CRYSTAL clearer. Not only can I see from the front to back of my tank, but I can look from one end to the other end and the water is perfectly clear no haze or cloudiness what so ever. If you are tried of racking your brain on trying to figure the problem, after using a blackout period and frequent water changes and still feel like a tiger chasing your tail, BUY this UV sterilizer the larger the better as long as your tank is tall enough. You will be GLAD you did and your your fish will thank you too.
Pros:
Effective, Easy To Clean, Needs Little Upkeep, Quiet
Best Uses:
Small Tanks, Tropical Fish, Large Tanks
